Creating a Coursepack - LiteratureInContext/LiC-data GitHub Wiki

You can create any number of coursepacks themed and organized for your course. To get started:

Create an account

  1. Click “Login”
  2. Click “Create New User”
  3. Fill in the details. Use no spaces in your username.

Login

You must be logged in to create or modify a coursepack you've created.

Add Option 1: Browse the collection with “Browse and Search”

  1. Click "Browse and Search," and browse the collection.
  2. From the results, select a text to add to your coursepack by selecting the checkbox next to your title.
  • You can select multiple items by checking multiple boxes.
  1. Click “Add selected to coursepack”
  • If you’ve already created a coursepack and want to add content to it, select the appropriate coursepack from the dropdown menu in the popup.
  • If you’re creating a new coursepack, select “Create coursepack from selected” from the popup.
  • Give your coursepack a name and a description. These can be edited later.
  • Your selections will be added.

Add Option 2: Add an item from a text page

  1. Navigate to the page of a text you’d like to include.
  2. Click “+ Custom Coursepack” tab from the left side of the page.
  • If you’ve already created a coursepack and want to add content to it, select the appropriate coursepack from the dropdown menu in the popup and click “Save.”
  • If you’re creating a new coursepack, select “Create new coursepack from selected” in the popup.
  • Give your coursepack a name and a description. These can be edited later.
  • Your selections will be added.

Add Option 3: Add a selection from a text to a coursepack

  1. Navigate to the page of a text you’d like to include.
  2. Find your desired continuous excerpt, and highlight it by selecting the portion with your mouse.
  3. Click the “+ Custom Coursepack” tab from the left side of the screen.
  • If you’ve already created a coursepack and want to add content to it, select the appropriate coursepack from the dropdown menu in the popup and click “Save.”
  • If you’re creating a new coursepack, select “Create new coursepack from selected” in the popup.
  • Give your coursepack a name and a description. These can be edited later.
  • Your excerpt will be added.

Important Note

Do not use the Hypothesis annotation tools to add content! These will pop up once you’ve highlighted a portion of text, because you can also annotate a selection using Hypothesis.
