What is a Network Trader?

A universal trader behaves exactly like a normal Trading Machine, however unlike normal traders they can be accessed from anywhere by using a Trading Terminal. As such they are useful for creating online shops that all players can interact with from the comfort of their own base, however they are slightly more expensive to craft, requiring an eye of ender to make the wireless item interactions from across dimensions.

Trading Terminal

There are two Trading Terminal blocks that can be crafted, one that made from stone that looks like a computer monitor, and one made from Amethyst to more easily fit in to a low-tech environment. Both Terminals have an item version that can be interchanged at will in the crafting grid for easier access by using it from your hotbar, or (if Curios is installed) with a key-bind while equipped.

Interacting with a trading terminal will pull up a list of all Network Traders.

By default this screen will attempt to be as large as possible within the size of your screen. You may change this by editing the Client Configs network_terminal options to limit the maximum row/column count.

Each button in the trader list contains the Traders name, and below that who its owner is. The icon on the left indicates what type of trader it is (Trading Core indicates an item trader, the A icon is the auction house, etc.). Hovering over a button will include more details about the trader such as how many trade offers it has, how many of them are in stock, etc. The traders name also changes color based on its current state (green is a creative trader, gray is normal, orange is out of stock, and red isn't set up yet and has no valid trade offers).

Clicking on an entry will open that network trader's Trading Screen, allowing you to interact with it like you would any other trader. You may also filter your search by typing into the search bar at the top to filter traders by trader name, owner name, as well as any products/items being sold. While on that traders Trading Screen, you may click the back button on the bottom-left to return to the trading terminal.

  • The icon on the left of the entry indicates the trader type. Other mods such as LC Tech can add other trader types such as fluid or energy traders.
