Mapping S: Drive to \FS01\Sales Share for Sales-Users Group via Group Policy

Steps:

  • Open Group Policy Manager on Windows Server

  • Create a new GPO and link it to the desired domain/OU

  • Edit the GPO and navigate to User Configuration > Preferences > Windows Settings > Drive Maps

  • Create a new mapped drive with the path \fs01-liam\Sales and drive letter S:

  • Configure item-level targeting to apply the mapped drive to the Sales-Users group

  • Link the GPO and test the configuration on a user account within the Sales-Users group

  • Here is a gpresult /r that shows that alice is apart of the correct Group and O, and it mapped the S: drive
