- Create a quick filter (JQL) based on the data you would like to take for your MC Simulation. This depends on which data points you would like to have displayed - i.e. I like to take all the issues that were closed within a sprint, hence my filter will include all issues that were closed/resolved AND were part of a sprint.

-
You can check the accuracy of the filter when you go to the "Control Chart" within the Jira reports.
-
Once you are happy with the filter, I'd recommend to use a plug-in like Structure by Tempo - Jira Portfolio Management & PPM to have your data displayed
-
Within this plug-in, all you have to do is now input your JQL and select the date that represents the time/stages when you and your team consider a ticket to be done (This might differ, as for some it might be the closing date and for others it might be the date a ticket is resolved)
-
Once you have it, you can export the data as a CSV file.
-
Have another look at the accuracy of the data - mainly check for the amount of items and cross-check if they are more or less aligned with what your Jira control chart represents. Also filter for the items that you would like to have counted. i.e. You might want to remove Epics or Initiatives from your file.
-
Make sure that your the column within the .csv file that represents the closing date, has the correct column title = closed date
