Limitations - LemmusLemmus/GlosSI-Integration-Playnite GitHub Wiki

If any of these limitations are problematic, feel free to open an issue.

Changing the name and icon of an integrated game

Table over where it is OK to change the name and icon of a game/shortcut that has been integrated in Playnite, without having to change things elsewhere:

Modification Playnite GlosSIConfig Steam
Name ⚠️
Icon ⚠️ - ✔️
  • If the name of the game is changed in Playnite, the overlay will no longer be able to launch. Simply removing and re-adding the integration should fix the issue.
  • If the icon of the game is changed in Playnite, the overlay will no longer be able to find the icon. There are two ways to solve this: remove and re-add the integration, or update the path to the icon in Steam.

All other game properties should be modifiable without any problems.

Miscellaneous

  • Game names that are identical (when illegal file name characters have been removed) will overwrite and use the same .json configuration file. This should generally not be a problem.
  • For "Add Integration" to automatically avoid Steam games, the source of the Steam games should ideally be set to "Steam" (case insensitive).

Running multiple games simultaneously

If another Playnite game is started while a Playnite game is already using the overlay, the newly started game will not utilize the overlay (as there may only be one GlosSITarget active at a time). Aside from that, the extension should work fine with multiple games running at the same time.
