When should I raise a Security Duress issue? It is for instances that you require security assistance if you do not feel safe, or if you feel threatened.
Will Responders know where to find me? Your GPS location is sent only if there is a Security emergency situation raised so that responders can find you. You will need to allow location services at the device, browser and accepted at the APP level. If possible, please also communicate via phone to help the Responder find you.
Some areas don't have internet, can I still use it? If you have logged in and configured your profile, you will be able to access the Duress module and use the mobile device call functionality. The APP will display an OFFLINE banner if there is no internet connectivity.
Security phone numbers have been mapped to each Camp/Village - these will get updated continuously.
If the user presses the call option, the app also automatically raises a digital incident request in the background at the same time and will adhere to the digital escalation pathway if there’s internet connectivity.
It is also a control/risk minimisation strategy:
- If cellular phone call not working, Wi-Fi will cover, an electronic request will be raised in this instance
- If Wi-Fi is not working the end user can call security via cellular network, however, an electronic request or message will not be sent
NOTE: This does not replace any current safe working practices and in areas which mobile phone usage is prohibited, this does not allow workers to use their Mobile Devices.
