Singularity has no single directory tree. With Terabytes of storage, who needs directories? Just stash the file somewhere using a hash. Besides, you probably won't get the full ontology correct anyway. For any set of files, there are probably at least 4 equally good ways of categorizing the data into a tree.

So instead you have namespaces (like Users:People, Things, or Events). Don't namespaces just push the problem of making a directory somewhere else? Not necessarily. You can just have a flat namespace, sorted alphabetically which then can be pushed into differing views based on searching criteria.
