Names in Singularity are used in two ways: to name an object (at the "top") and at the bottom of an object to provide an interface to other objects or to the hardware through a common name, much like a named pipe in Unix. In this form, use ALLCAPS. The name must be unique on the system. Names across system take the form of NODE:NAME. Anything sent to such a named.

Names in Singularity must be unique. To make it easier to distinguish, names, like objects, are placed in an ontology. That is, there is a hierarchy of namespaces, much like DNS.
There are 4 primary ontologies:
- People - User-Nodes, Group-nodes, Knect-node.
- Objects - Knowledge

corporation are physical groups. If they want into cyberspace, they have to create a group with their corporate name.
