New to Dalhousie University
- Apply for Dalhousie banner id through Micro or Pharm office. Once you have your banner id go to “mydal” on the main Dalhousie site and click on “New User? Forgot your password?” Then click on “Activate or Lookup my NetID” to get your NetID and email.
- Note that you can create an alias for your email (i.e. your name rather than your NetID) by following the steps here: https://blogs.dal.ca/mcs/2014/01/personalize-your-dalhousie-email-address.
- Get DalCard and complete application for Tupper after-hours access
New to Langille Lab
- Get lab keys (eventually card reader access) from Sidney at Pharmacology office
- Request from Morgan access to Slack.
- Request from Morgan to be added to the DalMUG and ICG email lists.
- (Pharm grad students only) Schedule and attend “Responsible Conduct of Research”.
- See André about mandatory lab safety training.
- Add lab printer (Canon MF731CDW):
- Install drivers: https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/color-laser/color-imageclass-mf731cdw
- Add network printer using this address: langille-printer.pharmacology.dal.ca
- If on Mac, when adding the printer ensure you select the protocol LPD (and not the default IPP)
- Get an account created on the lab Linux servers Kronos and Vulcan.
- View presentation and browse information about lab servers.
- If you have never used Unix before you should walk through this tutorial: http://korflab.ucdavis.edu/bootcamp.html
