Spot Network - LCAS/spot_platform GitHub Wiki

Spot has many networks on-board the following are the ones that we are concerned with:

  • 'Connected Peer' — This is the network for connecting things such as NUCs and LIDARs on top of the dog, this is exposed through the GXP module. It has the subnet of 192.168.50.1/24
  • Wifi AP - This is the way we run Spot usually, this is where Spot creates its own Wifi network (e.g. spot-bd-sn123456). It has the subnet of 192.168.80.1/24
  • Wifi Client - You can configure the Spot base to join another network, such as the UoL - Research network. We are not currently using this and making use of the NUC's built in wifi to connect to the University network, as this means we do not need to make changes between on/off campus use.

IP Leases

Spot does not run DHCP on the ethernet network, so we need to assign IP addresses to each network connected device manually.
