Welcome to the LBCC Space Club's High Altitude Balloon project for Summer 2015, wiki! Or.. LBCCHABPFS2015? We really need to work a better acronym..

Anyway, you can find information here about our project, including how to set up a ground station for tracking your HAB payload using either a laptop or Raspberry Pi.

The project involves several parts:

1. On-board cutdown system.

• Burn circuit, built using common electrical components and hot nichrome wire.

• Code to trigger the burn circuit.

2. Ground tracking station.

• Terminal Node Controller, which interprets audio from the radio into digital signal using either:

  a. Hardware TNC board for Raspberry Pi.

  b. Software TNC for personal computer. (Linux, Mac, or Windows)

• GPS mapping software like YAAC, or other APRS system.
