Introduction

Decoratives:

  • The decorative arts are arts or crafts whose object is the design and manufacture of objects that are both beautiful and functional. It includes most of the arts making objects for the interiors of buildings, and interior design, but not usually architecture. Ceramic art, metalwork, furniture, jewellery, fashion, various forms of the textile arts and glassware are major groupings.
  • Applied Arts largely overlaps with decorative arts, and the modern making of applied art is usually called design. The decorative arts are often categorized in distinction to the "fine arts", namely painting, drawing, photography, and large-scale sculpture, which generally produce objects solely for their aesthetic quality and capacity to stimulate the intellect.

EXTRA INFOMATION

1.Hot Glue LED Matrix Lamp

1

This lamp is based on a similar lamp called "Fiber Optic" LED Matrix by jbumstead. Using OpenSCAD, the goal is to replace the 12mm Diffused Digital RGB LED used in jbumstead's design with cheap WS2812B RGB strips and to make the container for the LEDs and electronics as thin as possible allowing cheaper 7mm glue sticks to be used.

2.Gixie Clock

3

Gixie Clock is a modern device that reproduces the retro beauty of Nixie tube displays. The code and hardware of Gixie Clock is open source, you can upload your own code yourself. We keep unused IO on the PCB, you can add other hardware to the Gixie Clock. Gixie Clock uses probes and magnets, so you can change each tube at will. You don't have to worry about the time after the power failure, because we have added a clock chip inside, to ensure that the clock can continue to be clocked after the power is turned off.

3.Ever Blooming Mechanical Tulip

8

This Mechanical tulip will bloom into any color possible with just gentle touch of your hand. Its six petals will slowly open and light up. When petals are closed they create incredible ambient light with leaf patterns.

WORKING

Tulip consists of 6 petals each with 5 SMD white LEDs. Each petal is connected with one of the Arduino output pins. Blossom hides 7 NeoPixel RGB LEDs. From an electrical point of view, the whole flower is ground and veins in petals are a positive voltage. Petals are opened by a pushrod which is going all the way down the stem to the base. The pushrod is controlled by a movement of a small hobby servo. Small leaf on the side of the stem is connected to TTP223 touch sensor inside the base and creates a capacitive touchpad. The wooden base contains a servo motor, touch IC and Arduino Nano.

Kinetic Sculpture using 3D Printer

7

Kinetic sculpture, sculpture in which movement (as of a motor-driven part or a changing electronic image) is a basic element. ... In the 20th century the use of actual movement, kineticism, became an important aspect of sculpture. The DIY kinetic sculpture ‘Synchronicity’ designed by David C. Roy was produced using a 3D printer. The kinetic sculpture is driven by spring force, no electricity. Magnetic pawl system was applied to release a static force spring discontinuously.
