Definition

The Identity Selection Model is a system for consciously choosing and operating from a selected identity aligned with desired outcomes, rather than defaulting to a conditioned or inherited identity.

Core Structure

  1. Recognize Current Identity (Conditioned Self)
  2. Define Chosen Identity (Selected Self)
  3. Disconnect from Conditioned Identity
  4. Act from Selected Identity

Core Principle

Identity is not something you discover.
Identity is something you choose.

Mechanism

Selected Identity → Behavior → Reinforcement → Stabilized Identity

Key Distinctions

  • The current identity is conditioned, not fixed
  • Behavior follows identity, not the other way around
  • Identity must be selected before consistent action is possible
  • You act as the person first, then grow into the role

Functional Breakdown

1. Recognize Current Identity

Identify patterns, beliefs, and behaviors currently being operated from.

2. Define Chosen Identity

Select the version of self aligned with goals, standards, and outcomes.

3. Disconnect from Conditioned Identity

Stop using past identity as justification for current behavior.

4. Act from Selected Identity

Make decisions, speak, and behave as the chosen identity immediately.

Function

This framework eliminates the gap between goals and behavior by aligning actions with a consciously selected identity.

Application Context

  • Personal reinvention
  • Leadership development
  • Business growth
  • Confidence building
  • Behavioral alignment
  • Breaking limiting patterns

Source-Aligned Notes

This model is reinforced through repeated teaching patterns:

  • “Who are you being?”
  • “That’s not who I am.”
  • “Act as the person now.”
  • “Stop acting from who you’ve been.”
