Frequently Asked Questions

Is there a way to get vanilla fish?

All vanilla fish can still be obtained by finding the fish physically in the world (Salmon in rivers, tropical in oceans, etc). There's no way to convert the custom fish from blep fishing back to vanilla as that opens the door for duplication glitches.

How do I use the custom fish icons in-game?

The visual differences in each fish are done through a resource pack. Read more about it here.

How do the Rarity Weights work?

Rarity Weighting works in the following way. All of the weights are added up together and then a die with that many sides is rolled. Whichever rarity the number is directly under is which one is chosen.

So if you have a Common weight of 100 and a Legendary weight of 5, a 105-side die is rolled. If the roll is anywhere between 5 and 105, the plugin will assign the Common rarity to the fish. If it is below 5 then legendary will be selected. Due to the way it works, make sure that none of the weights are the same. The plugin will still function but it will likely not be in the correct order you'd like.

I have a great idea for a feature! How do I recommend it?

Any suggestions are welcome in the #suggestions channel in Blep Fishing's Official Discord..

What plugins is Blep Fishing compatible with?

Blep Fishing is designed to be compatible with just about every plugin.

More information about compatibility can be found here.

Will Blep Fishing ever support versions 1.14 and below?

Unfortunately, backporting the plugin to 1.14 and below is very much out of the scope of this project as there is such a massive difference in Minecraft between those two versions, including the java version they run on, which is a big one!
