PortaDOOM Launcher - Feature Tags

vanilla

Specifies that an engine is capable of playing "vanilla" WADs, or that a game requires an engine capable of playing "vanilla" WADs.

Engines capable of playing "vanilla" IWADs, e.g. DOOM.WAD, DOOM2.WAD. Despite this implying 'every engine', there are actually DOOM engines that cannot play the original DOOM games; DOOM 64 EX for example, can only play DOOM 64 formatted data and is incapable of playing "vanilla" WADs!

doom64

Specifies an engine as capable of playing DOOM 64 WADs, or a game that uses DOOM 64 formatted WADs.

Note that this should not be confused with "DOOM 64 like" WADs, such as can be played with GZDoom. This feature tag implies that an engine can read the original DOOM 64 map format; only DOOM 64 EX is currently capable of doing this.
