Innovative Neurophysiology provides 16 or 32 channel tungsten wire electrode arrays, but does not integrate optical fibers or infusion cannulas into them. To add a cannula or an optical fiber to an electrode array we must position it in place and affix it with UV-cured epoxy.

To affix an optical fiber, first trim the fiber to ~8mm length (exact length depending on electrode lengths)

Use soft clay to position the fiber in the center of the electodes:

Using a tabletop microscope, confirm the position is correct. Let the assembly sit for a minute to make sure elasticity is out of the clay and it won't move while gluing. image

Put a small drop of Bonic UV cured epoxy on the fiber and cure it to affix it to the array
