The student may have particular items the school wishes to keep track of, for example:

• a school-purchased laptop (whether owned or not by the student)
• a musical instrument if owned by the school

The background to the first point this is at Busan International Foreign School students are required to have a laptop for use in the school so students without laptops ultimately need to be listed and asked to purchase one.

In principle, the 'student inventory' list could be used for anything the student needs to have or anything they have temporarily taken from the school.
