The 1980s

Every city is set in 1986 for now. KG Cities rolls each city back to that year:

• Towers built since are hidden, using their construction dates in OpenStreetMap.
• Rail lines and stations end where they ended then. Extensions opened later are cut, and stations not yet open are removed.
• Landmarks are written as of 1986, and the ones not yet built are left off.
• New York has the World Trade Center as it stood.
• Boston has the elevated Central Artery and the period's place names.
• Las Vegas has the Strip of the Sands, the Dunes, the Desert Inn and the Stardust. The later resorts are cleared to bare ground.
