What you love
- You find the tech satisfying to build things in and have fun working in it
- The community is supportive and helpful
- It's used in organizations you could see yourself working at
What you're good at
- You find the tech intuitive and understand the related patterns
- You can see anti-patterns quickly and understand how not to use the tech
What you can be paid for
- The tech is not being abandon faster than its being adopted
- There are sufficient jobs in the market for the tech or something very adjacent to it
- The salary pays something similar to what you are targeting
What the world needs
- The tech was invented to meet what you consider a real need
- The tech is used to build useful products, and isn't exclusive to a niche that doesn't fit your values (suppose you are very uninspired by ad tech work - google analytics might not be for you)
- There are existing (or at least potential) unique benefits that this technology can offer to the world
