Exploration is the second phase of the Living Lab set-up. The goal is to find out possible errors or discrepancies in the product or service. This is the ‘problem-solution fit’ stage, as you identify the problem and fit your solution as good as possible with the problem. For this purpose mainly the prototyping method is used. This method simulates products or services. These can then be presented to the research team and other stakeholders in a visual way. Rapid prototyping or fake mock-ups are often used for this purpose.
Exploration is also defined as purposive inflows of knowledge or technology, aimed at capturing and benefiting from external sources of knowledge to enhance current technological developments.
Prototyp
In our project, we are developing a first prototype with which you can order a coffee by voice control. For this purpose, a User Story Mapping of the MVP was created. Based on this the Communication Behavior was described. Now an Exploration Test Setup could be built to test the prototype. The procedure was described in a Mock-Up and still, existing media breaks were analyzed.
