Iteration 2:

Description of prototype 2: The second prototype of the KIM has been extended by a camera and an IoT platform. KIM consists of a box, in which the whole sensor technology, as well as a camera and micro, is installed. The idea of the KIM is that big families can have their drink wishes automatically fulfilled and personal rules can be defined. Drinks that can be selected are different kinds of coffee, soft drinks, sparkling and still water and alcoholic beverages. A coffee machine and a soda stream, as well as various syrups, are connected to the KIM. In addition, KIM is linked to a smart device. This device has access to the IoT platform.

Survey type: The survey type takes place in a Living Lab set-up. This is about the cooperation of our development and the users. KIM will be placed in selected test persons' homes for one month and a weekly survey will be conducted via the app. We are still interested in finding out how easy it is to use KIM and how comfortable the test persons feel with this type of beverage selection.

Hypotheses:

  1. The test persons see the advantage of KIM and are satisfied with the time saving and the new control. Metrics: Frequency of use, number of defined rules, NPS of the weekly survey.
  2. The test persons are happy about the relief in everyday life that they do not have to worry about a drink anymore. Metric: We ask: How satisfied are you with relief in everyday life? (Scale from 1-10) The hypothesis is considered confirmed from a Net Promotor Score (NPS) of +50.

Test phase: The test persons have a KIM at home and can use it for their beverage preparation. They also get access to the developed IoT platform to define rules. The test phase lasts one month so that the test persons have time to integrate KIM into their everyday life.
