Social Media Platforms...Password Loggers? - Kahuna915/Capstone-Cloud-Integration GitHub Wiki

According to many news outlets over the years social media platforms have used keyloggers to store the keystrokes of users. Whether that be searching, passwords, credit card information, or just messages. I want to see how far this goes and what apps truly care for you. I want to take a deep dive on the big three, Facebook, TikTok, and Instagram, and see what their security measures are. And from there see exactly where holes are and demand a change. This project would require a lot of research to find out exactly where to start, as well as reading through most agreements from these applications and finding their security requirements. From there the hands-on part would start, testing to see if their requirements are being enforced or if a change needs to happen. The overall mission is to prove that one of these applications does keylog and store in plaintext. I find this topic very interesting, especially because of the news with Tiktok was created in China and was banned in a few countries originally for being too unsafe and was then "bought" by investors and revamped to only be charged with being a keylogger recently.
