BRAINSTORMING

To decide what idea to choose we had a little brainstorming sesh. For some inspiration we had the Makezine website open, and had a browse for fun projects that could inspire us. We came up with these ideas:

• When you're stressed out it sends you cute pictures of cats.
• When you receive a rejection email (so a mail containing the words disappointing/ regret etc) it makes you a nice cup of tea.
• An alarm that does off when your child enters a 'dangerous' area (cooker area, etc) of the house.
• Sensor at the door that alerts you you're leaving without your keys, phone, or wallet.
• An automatic shopping list for basics(that tells you what you're missing).
• Long distance Post-it. You can update it from a distance.
• A Bullseye for the bathroom - boys.
• Automatic lighting setting to set the mood of the livingroom (film, romantic, meal, study...).
• A pen that can write whatever you send it (line drawings, simple words...)
• A wearable that detects you're stressed out and turns on the kettle (to make you a cup of tea).
• A walkie talkie teddy bear.
• A voice controlled Roomba.
• Set up a system so that your appliances can post messages on twitter
  • Plants: Water me!
  • Coffe Machine: Change my filter!
  • Cat Bowl: Feed Me!
• Voice controlled Safe.
• Wesley Clock (harry potter) That tells you where everyone in your family is at any given time.
• A screenSaver for your computer that comes up when you say a keyword: Hi Mum!
• TV that turnes to mute for 2 mins when it detects a name of someone you don't really want to know anything about (Kardashians, Trump...)
• Mute TV when they go on to adverts, turn back on when they finish.
• SMS messages when your plants are thirsty.

These are the most relevant ideas we had (lots of them involving tea). Of these we did a general selection of the ones we thought would be more fun to actually make. And selected:

• A Bullseye for the bathroom - boys.
• TV that turnes to mute for 2 mins when it detects a name of someone you don't really want to know anything about (Kardashians, Trump...)
• Wesley Clock (harry potter) That tells you where everyone in your family is at any given time.

But both the TV one and the Wesley clock we figured would be quite hard to detect the trigger for the action to start. So we settled for the Bullseye.
