Shadow of Moil
Level: 4th
School: Necromancy
Casting Time: 1 action
Range: Self
Components: V, S, M (an undead eyeball encased in a gem worth at least 150 gp)
Duration: Concentration, up to 1 minute
Description:
Flames of shadow wreathe your body, causing the area around you to become heavily obscured to others. The flames turn dim light within 10 feet of you into darkness, and bright light in the same area to dim light. Until the spell ends, you have resistance to radiant damage.
- Shadowy Flames: While the spell is active, any creature that hits you with a melee attack takes 2d8 necrotic damage.
- Visibility: You are heavily obscured to others, giving creatures disadvantage on attack rolls against you.
Notes:
- Defensive Utility: This spell provides both damage resistance (to radiant damage) and an offensive deterrent (2d8 necrotic damage to attackers).
- Obscured Vision: The heavily obscured area around you grants disadvantage on attacks made against you, providing additional defensive utility.
- Necromancy Theme: This spell fits well within the theme of necromancy, offering a mixture of protection and harm.
