Most names are taken from Mesoamerican and Pacific cultures. The sound of these names is highly percusive and extremely foreign to the typical European medieval fantasy game, while still sounding beautiful and natural.
The (real or invented by colonizers) colourful cultures of Precolumbian America are a good insertion onto the Lizardfolk.
Quetzalcoatl is a good inspiration for deities for lizard peoples.
Keep a mysterious and foreign El Dorado vibe to it but DON'T relate these traits to the Lizard but to the Folk. Mesoamericans had a rich and überscientific priesthood and complex political systems. Keep it in mind.
Avoid making anything alike a cast system. That makes no sense for lizards. They are not prosocial. But you can make them super individualistic, $neoliberal$ $Randian$ style.
Reptiles have complex rituals for mating, making them excellent $Bards$.
Consider making them feathery reptiles and farm dinosaurs for flavour.
Reptiles have their activity levels related to heat, so they are especially tired in cold weather and at night. But you remember you can use magic, and an All-White shiny snow iguana sounds pretty cool.
