Samurai: The Way of the Honorable Warrior
“In the heart of battle, the mind must be clear as still water. A warrior’s spirit is tempered in the fires of discipline and duty, And in the face of death, one finds life’s truest clarity. For the Samurai, honor is not a word, but a way of being.” — The Scroll of the Unyielding Blade
Fighting Spirit
At 3rd level, you learn that the true strength of a warrior is not found in the sharpness of their blade, but in the resolve that drives them forward. As an action, you can summon your Fighting Spirit, giving you advantage on all weapon attack rolls until the end of your current turn. In this state of focus, you also gain 5 temporary hit points, standing resilient as the mountain in the face of adversity. The strength of this spirit grows as you do, with the temporary hit points increasing to 10 at 10th level and 15 at 15th level.
Elegant Courtier
At 3rd level, you embrace the grace and wisdom of the court, for a Samurai’s prowess extends beyond the battlefield. Your study of etiquette and honor grants you proficiency in Wisdom saving throws. Additionally, when you make a Persuasion check, you may add your Wisdom modifier to the roll, blending both intellect and emotion to guide your words. In matters of diplomacy, as in war, you find the balance between strength and subtlety.
Tireless Spirit
At 10th level, the unyielding resolve within you strengthens. When you call upon your Fighting Spirit and find that your reserves are spent, you may push beyond your limits. Once per long rest, when all your uses of Fighting Spirit have been expended, you can draw on this Tireless Spirit to use it once more. The warrior who endures, who can call upon their spirit when it is most needed, is the one who triumphs.
Rapid Strike
At 15th level, you master the art of the swift and decisive blow, understanding that speed and precision are as vital as strength. When you make an attack with advantage, you may forgo that advantage to strike twice instead. Each strike must land true, for in the fleeting moments of battle, every breath, every movement, is a matter of life and death.
Strength Before Death
At 18th level, you embody the principle that true strength is revealed in the face of annihilation. When you are brought to the brink of death, reduced to 0 hit points, your spirit ignites in one final burst of defiance. You can immediately take a full turn, defying death itself to strike down your enemies. Once you have made this final stand, you fall, having given everything in the name of honor. This ability may only be used once per long rest, for such resolve is both rare and powerful, a testament to the Samurai’s unwavering heart.
