“Blades”—bards who master both music and martial prowess, turning weaponry into an art form that dazzles audiences and cuts down foes with equal finesse.

Bards of the College of Swords are known as “blades,” performers who combine their talents with weapons to entertain and astound. Their skills in swordplay, knife-throwing, and mock combat make them formidable warriors, whether they’re on stage or in the heat of battle. Many blades live double lives, using their performances as cover for more clandestine activities, ranging from vigilantism to thievery.

Features of the College of Swords:

• Bonus Proficiencies (3rd Level):
  • Gain proficiency with medium armor and scimitars. You can also use any melee weapon you’re proficient with as a spellcasting focus for your bard spells.
• Fighting Style (3rd Level):
  • Choose a fighting style to enhance your combat skills—either Dueling for extra damage with a single weapon or Two-Weapon Fighting to enhance your off-hand attacks.
• Blade Flourish (3rd Level):
  • Perform dazzling martial maneuvers that boost your speed and add powerful effects to your attacks. Choose from:
• Defensive Flourish:
  • Add extra damage and increase your AC.
• Slashing Flourish:
  • Deal extra damage to multiple foes within reach.
• Mobile Flourish:
  • Push your target away and move closer for another strike.
• Extra Attack (6th Level):
  • Attack twice whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
• Master’s Flourish (14th Level):
  • Use a d6 for your Blade Flourish options instead of expending Bardic Inspiration, allowing you to perform flourishes more freely.
