A Journey of Spirit and Strength ๐บ๐ฆ ๐ป
Embarking on the Path of the Totem Warrior is more than a mere choice of powerโit is a sacred covenant with the natural world, a bond forged in the heart of the wild. As you tread this path, you accept a totem animal as your spiritual guide, protector, and source of strength. This connection to the primal forces of nature fuels your rage, turning it into something transcendent, a force of nature that no foe can withstand.
Among barbarian tribes, each clan reveres a specific totem animal, seen as a spiritual kin. It is rare, but not unheard of, for a warrior to be chosen by multiple totems, each spirit bestowing its own wisdom and might upon the barbarian.
Spirit Seeker
$3rd$ $level$
Your journey is one of deep attunement with the natural world, allowing you to connect with the spirits of beasts. Upon reaching 3rd level, you gain the ability to cast the Beast Sense and Speak with Animals spells as rituals. Through these rites, you can sense through the eyes of creatures and converse with the spirits of the wild, gaining insights beyond mortal ken.
Totem Spirit
$3rd$ $level$
At 3rd level, your bond with the wild strengthens as you choose a totem spirit, a mystical creature that embodies the essence you seek to channel. This bond manifests in a physical totemโan amulet, a headdress, or some other adornmentโcrafted from the parts of your totem animal, such as fur, feathers, claws, or bones. This sacred object is more than a mere charm; it is a link to your spirit guide, a source of your power.
As you forge this bond, you may also begin to take on minor physical traits of your chosen totem, like the sharp eyes of an eagle or the sturdy build of a bear. Your totem animal might be one of those listed here, or another creature more closely tied to your homeland, such as a hawk or vulture in place of an eagle.
๐ป Bear.
While raging, you gain resistance to all damage except psychic. The bear spirit fortifies your body, making you a bastion of endurance.
๐ฆ Eagle.
While youโre raging and not wearing heavy armor, enemies find it difficult to pin you down. They suffer disadvantage on opportunity attacks against you, and you can Dash as a bonus action. The eagle spirit grants you the swiftness and precision of a predator in flight.
๐ฆ Elk.
While raging and not wearing heavy armor, your speed increases by 15 feet. The elk spirit bestows upon you unparalleled swiftness, allowing you to cover vast distances in mere moments.
๐ Tiger.
While raging, your leaps are empowered by the tiger spirit. You can add 10 feet to your long jump distance and 3 feet to your high jump distance, embodying the agility and grace of the great cat.
๐บ Wolf.
While raging, your allies benefit from your presence. They gain advantage on melee attack rolls against any creature within 5 feet of you that is hostile to you. The wolf spirit makes you the heart of your pack, guiding and protecting those who fight by your side.
Aspect of the Beast
$6th$ $level$
At 6th level, your connection to the totem spirit deepens, granting you further abilities tied to your chosen animal. You may choose the same animal you selected at 3rd level, or you may choose a different one, expanding the aspects of the wild that you embody.
๐ป Bear.
You possess the raw strength of the bear. Your carrying capacity (including maximum load and maximum lift) is doubled, and you have advantage on Strength checks made to push, pull, lift, or break objects.
๐ฆ Eagle.
Your vision sharpens to that of an eagle. You can see up to 1 mile away as if it were no more than 100 feet. Dim light does not impose disadvantage on your Wisdom (Perception) checks.
๐ฆ Elk.
Whether mounted or on foot, your travel pace is doubled, and so is that of up to ten companions within 60 feet of you if you are not incapacitated. The elk spirit allows you and your allies to roam the lands with unrivaled speed.
๐ Tiger.
The tiger hones your instincts. You gain proficiency in two skills from the following: Athletics, Acrobatics, Stealth, and Survival. The cat spirit sharpens your natural talents.
๐บ Wolf.
You gain the keen hunting instincts of a wolf. You can track other creatures while moving at a fast pace, and you can move stealthily at a normal pace.
Spirit Walker
$10th$ $level$
At 10th level, you gain the ability to cast the Commune with Nature spell as a ritual. When you perform this ritual, the spirit of one of your chosen totem animals appears to guide you, imparting the knowledge you seek. This communion is a sacred act, connecting you to the primal forces of the world.
Totemic Attunement
$14th$ $level$
At 14th level, your bond with the totem spirit reaches its zenith, granting you a powerful benefit tied to your chosen animal. As before, you may choose the same animal or a different one, shaping your abilities to fit your journey.
๐ป Bear.
While raging, creatures within 5 feet of you that are hostile to you have disadvantage on attack rolls against targets other than you. An enemy is immune to this effect if it cannot see or hear you, or if it is immune to being frightened.
๐ฆ Eagle
While raging, you gain the ability to fly, with a speed equal to your walking speed. This flight is brief and fierce, and you must land at the end of your turn or fall.
๐ฆ Elk
While raging, you can use a bonus action during your move to charge through the space of a Large or smaller creature. The creature must succeed on a Strength saving throw (DC 8 + your Strength modifier + your proficiency bonus) or be knocked prone and take 1d12 + your Strength modifier in bludgeoning damage.
๐ Tiger
While raging, if you move at least 20 feet in a straight line toward a Large or smaller target before attacking, you can use a bonus action to make an additional melee weapon attack.
๐บ Wolf
While raging, you can use a bonus action to knock a Large or smaller creature prone when you hit it with a melee attack, embodying the relentless ferocity of the pack.
