⛊ī¸ The Red Pyramid

Tainted in the iron of blood mixed into the stones themselves, the pyramid stands in a white sand desert irradiating magic energies. It is known that inside there are great treasures of gold with ancient magic of incommensurable power. The only thing greater than its treasures is its dangers.

As you approach this ancient monument you see the crown of gold on top reflecting the sun. Under it, the great construction is tainted with a red colour reminiscent of dried blood. Because it is dry blood.

The legend speaks of thousands of artefacts of great power. If you manage to get inside. Some of the greatest swords ever made are lying on the floor, forgotten and shaded by great rings of arcane power and world-altering crowns of power. Those artefacts may be yours. If you can get them.

⛲ī¸ The $Garden$

As you get close to the monument, after a day of travel under the desert, you notice a garden of palm trees and cacti surrounding the construction of magnanimous height.

All characters start the adventure with one level of exhaustion from the travel.

The garden has fountains of water that, when examined by the players, will reveal to be contaminated, and cursed. Any player that drinks from them will get $1D6$ poison damage and gain one level of exhaustion.

Fruits from the palm trees and orange and lemon trees are ok to eat, but cacti are toxic. If eaten, $1D6$ toxic poison damage is taken.

Some snakes may be found around the garden.

It is not discouraged that the party rests and sets camp in the Garden. But there is a $1:6$ chance of a party of 5 skeleton

đŸ›ī¸ The $Temple$

You don't access the Pyramid directly but through a Temple.

Two massive statues of Anubis stand guard next to the gates.

To the sides, multiple columns filled with hieroglyphs filled with ancient magic: Protection spells, warnings, and even instructions for spells (if you can decypher you learn one extra cantrip from your class.), etc... They also contain instructions for the chambers inside. Tips like:

  • Don't fight with swords what can be survived with a sharp mind (Sphynx)
  • The Dead don't rest. Speak the name of Ra to appease them. (Skeletons don't attack you if you speak Ra. They will kneel in the name of their God)
  • Cats don't die. Follow their steps. (Cats will avoid traps)
  • Beware the shifting sands. (Sand Golems)
  • The King rests on the top. (The lich is on top)

At the entrance of the temple, you will see red marble and onyx walls. All are covered by hieroglyphs that praise the Egyptian Gods. The Book of the dead is carved further into the temple's walls.

A huge statue of Osiris stands tall, observer of the explorers. Behind it, when the secret lever is activated (pressing the missing part of Osiris, or any creative solution you like from your players) a fake wall communicates to the crypt. Next step in our journey.

Traps

From here on, many Traps await.

đŸĒ¨ Rolling Sphere

Poisoned Darts

The Crypt

The Crypt contains tombs for the priests. When advancing through the crypt, a mistake raises the dead corpses (anything you want: from stealing to touching or disrespecting the tomb. Something will happen for sure. Even reaching the final gate is a valid excuse).

The undeads have to be flavoured: Golden weapons, mummified, with heads of Jackals...

You can use the Stats of :

The Snake Pit

A trap awaits:

If they fall into the Snake Pit, they will fight some snakes. Duh.

Your Options for Snakes are:

Generally, 5 snakes is a good set to feel like a pit, not just a small nest. One Giant Snake and 4 normal snakes, or a Giant snake and a swarm (maybe fire snakes swarm?) is a good set.

The Minotaur

Minotaurs with Ram's heads with Egyptian flavour.

The Protectors

Statues of colossal size protect treasures. Golems made of sand that form at the moment they touch an artifact

The Sphinx

The Sphynx Should present a riddle or a test, but if fought you can use:

The Guardians

A Chamber may be protected by guardian undeads: Bodies of Giants. Good Luck

The Wonder Cave

The Mummy Lord
