This method requires that the SEM images have a white bar and a scale inside.

1. Import the image/images from the File menu, Import Image.

The image will appear in the left canvas.

Tip: When selecting several images only the first one is shown but all will be processed after the Save as is clicked.

2. Click the Read Scale button.

As can be seen the progress bar is full, meaning that all values could be determined and are displayed.

Tip: Sometimes the progress bar will stuck momentarily at 75%. This is normal, just means its taking a bit longer to read the scale number. It could take up to a maximum of 1/2 min per image.

If for some reason the values obtained are wrong you can change them by clicking manual. Remember that if the button Read Scale is clicked the changes will be reversed.

3. Click the Preview button.

The image on the left will appear in the right without the white bar and with the new scale.

4. Now you can tailor the new image/scale at your own taste. You can:

• Choose the new scale bar colors;
• Alter the values obtained in Readscale if they are wrong;
• Crop even further the image (max 50%)
• Choose a specific target scale number.

For the last three the manual checkbox must be checked.

Tip: If you alter the Read Scale values and you have imported several images before, the altered values will only work for the first image. Only the Target Value will be applied to all images.

5. To save the images, click "Save as" in the File menu and select the folder where a new folder (images with new scale) will be created will the new images inside.

When all images are saved, a pop-up window will appear.

6. Images are saved in a folder named "Images with new scale" in the folder selected.
