Mood analysis
We can see that the game mood is based on the sci-fi movies, being the main character a microscopic spaceship, and the plot about a hero defeating microscopic aliens which are residing in a human female (a pretty similar plot as Fantastic voyage).
The emotions that the game conveys are desolation as you are completely alone in this battle. It also transmits helplessness as you fight alone against a seemingly endless horde of enemies. The art of the game also transmits horror and fear since the colors used are very dark.

We weren’t able to find any concept art. However, we have found out that Bykhee, the level 7 boss, is based on Baphomet, a deity that the Knights Templar were accused of worshiping.

Sprites
To get all the X-Multiply sprites we used the command F4 on MAME, which allows you to see all the sprites in a more or less organized way. Then we took the necessary screenshots and united them using photoshop, saving them as png.

We also used SpriteTracer to rip some sprites because it saves every screenshot that is done. (We only used SpriteTracer with the sprites that were almost imposible to ensemble with the F4 command of MAME).

Level Art
Level 1 (Into the Human Body)
At the start of the level the ship is dropped by a kind of syringe looking machine. Level 1 art can be associated with the pulmonary veins, since you pass through a kind of bloody looking veins. The backround color on this level is constantly changing.
The Level 1 boss Hostur's design, reminds us of a medieval gargoyle.

Level 2 (Babe Good Looking)
The second level design is different from all the others, as the only thing that appears on screen is a giant monster named Rokusu. If the previous map was the pulmonary veins we can assume that level 2 represents the heart, as Rokusu is in a big dark space like a ventricle. That is why this level has no tile set, it is only a black background.
Rokusu's design is similar to the japanese dragons, as their are pretty big and large.

Level 3 (The Rolling Worms)
This level probably represents the lungs. When the level starts, the spaceship is in one lung until it reaches a little section which represents the connector between the lungs, because when you pass this little part the map returns at his original design, the other lung.

Level 4 (Illegal Illusion)
The level 4 backround is totally black and his tilemap has red and brown as principal colors and some spheres that changes their color constantly. This level can be associated with the larynx because it does the same kind of movement, its walls can contract and dilate.
Level 4 boss looks like a robotic monster with spyder eyes.

Level 5 (Bloody Bloom)
The level 5 backround is an agglomeration of blue balls. The map's art is the simplest and is divided in two parts, on the first part the terrain looks like mud and on the second part looks more like a cave. After the larynx of level 4, it comes the esophagus, represented by level 5. At the end of the esophagus there is the stomach, and that is why at the end of this level there is a lake that looks like gastric juice.
Level 5 boss looks like a leviathan.

Level 6 (Twilight Sight)
The level 6 backround is constantly changing colors from orange-green to blue-purple. The map's mian color is brown and the details, like skulls, are purple. After the stomach (represented by level 5) there are the bowels, that's why in this level the spaceship has to move doing zig-zags.
Level 6 boss looks like a gigantic ladybug.

Level 7 (Lusty Her Majesty)
The level 7 backround is a group of yellow stalactites. The map's art has two parts, on the first one the map has a brownish color with spheres that changes their color constantly and on the second part teh map looks like a blue corridor meaning that you are arriving to hte final boss. As we are inside a woman, after the bowels it comes the uterus, represented by level 7. At the middle of the level of the map, the design changes completely (the corridor), metaphorically meaning that you are travelling through the Fallopian tubes.
As we said before, level 7 boss is absed on Baphomet.
