Design Concept
The base concept is a person going and collecting or obtaining the colours/emotions. So let us explore that in more detail. The first thing is why are they collecting, that it instead of a person is a soul. It was just made and needs to find/collect these and they join with it. How are they finding these colours/emotions, they all have their own areas or zone or land that their is a place that connects to them all.
Now with all the new information. A newly made spirt/soul is created and is in a temple that is connected to areas that are all tied to one colour and they must travel through those areas and obtain the colour at the end and by doing so gain those emotions and feelings of that colour. Becoming a full soul.
Levels Concept
If their are different areas for each colour that would mean they all need their own unique element or at least to feel different and not a copy of another one. So let us start with red, this would be the most likely to have enemies but will be the platformer. Can have fire to reset the player to the start. Blue, can use the connection to water to make a water level? Could do water currents to make a maze like area to find the end? Green, puzzles work well here since none of the connections to the colour instantly give and idea for gameplay elements. Yellow, have a race or time trail of some sort? Orange and Purple don't give be any ideas right away so I may need to think if these two area necessary.
