If you need, or intend, to do the same thing (action) every day, or every week, or month , or year, then rather than creating a new action every time and then Completing it, you can create a Periodic Action.

1. Create the action as usual via Actions/Add in the main menu.
2. Set the Status to Periodic
3. If the Period is not Daily, starting at Midnight, fill in the Period field with one of 'Daily','Weekly','Monthly' or 'Yearly', optionally followed by a number which is when, within that period the action should start.

When a Periodic Action is set to Complete, either by clicking Done, next to the action in the 'Periodic Actions' window, or by using the Complete option available by clicking End, its status remains Periodic, but it will not be shown again until the next time it is due to be active. Note actions which were not completed during some period, but which start after the start of the next period are not shown until they are due to start - for example if you set an action to be done very Friday (Weekly 5) and do not complete it then, it will not show as an active action on the following Monday.

If the Periodic Action is no longer required then edit it to change its Status to Completed, invoking the editor while it is the active action by Right Clicking 'Action' in the middle menu bar, or finding it via Actions/View in the main menu bar.

Period examples

Weekly 3 The action becomes active every Wednesday

Once it is marked as Completed (or Done) it will not show up again until after next Wednesday.

'Monthly 5' The action becomes active on the 5th day of the month.
