What are TLS SSL Certificates? - JohnHau/mis GitHub Wiki

TLS/SSL certificates are a type of X.509 certificates used to verify the legitimacy of a server-side endpoint in browser-server communication. In complying with the X.509 standard, a typical TLS/SSL certificate contains the owner’s public key, the subject or the owner name, serial number, the name of the CA, the validity period (start and end date), and a digital signature with the CA’s private key.
