Usability Aspects - JeroCardona/IMEC GitHub Wiki
Structure, Accesibility & Design
The interface of the application is designed with a focus on maximizing user experience, ensuring that navigation is intuitive and easy to understand. This is reflected in every aspect of the design, from the layout of elements on the screen to the choice of colors and fonts. The priority is that any user, regardless of their familiarity with technology, can interact with the application smoothly and efficiently.
The structure of the application follows usability principles, meaning that all functions are clearly defined and easily accessible. The navigation menus are simple and concise, with logical categories that allow users to quickly find what they are looking for. The navigation flow is designed so that users can reach any part of the application in no more than three clicks, minimizing frustration and improving efficiency.
The interface design is based on familiar interaction patterns that users can easily recognize, such as buttons with universal icons (home, products, etc). Expected user actions, such as adding products to the cart or completing a purchase, are intuitive and visually highlighted.
The visual aesthetics of the application have been carefully designed to be attractive and functional. A balanced color palette is used, which is not only visually appealing but also helps guide users through the application. Action colors (such as call-to-action buttons) contrast adequately with the background to attract attention without being intrusive. Then the chosen typography is modern and easy to read, ensuring that texts, from titles to product descriptions, are presented clearly.
Simplicity is one of the fundamental pillars of the application. The interfaces are free of unnecessary visual elements that could distract or confuse the user. Each section and function of the application has a purpose and is designed so that even first-time users can interact with it without a steep learning curve. Common actions such as searching, adding to the cart, and proceeding to checkout are highlighted, and instructions are clear and concise.
