Ideas to add to simulation

• Traffic controller holding up sign that's easy to interpret for AV

• HMI changes

  • Voice talking to you
  • Light that follows your breathing to improve focus and connection to car
  • Music playing that turns down when critical situation is coming up

• V2X implementation

  • AV already knew beforehand that there was an accident
    • Car approaches from around the corner, notifies passenger before even seeing the accident
    • Add notification to screen
  • AV turns on the heating in your house before you arrive (also tells you ofc.)

• MaaS

  • AV is a shared car that is driving the experiencer home, then leaving to pick up someone else

• Indicate that we are pulling into a parking spot at the end

  • Make it a proper parking spot? Add a parking sign?

Legislation

• Add legislative element

  • AV specifies that passenger is responsible for paying attention during execution of procedure, and thus liable in case of accident
  • Show a warning regarding capabilities of the AV

• Address public concerns

  • Highlight that data is not being stored

We can record some input of the participant. Or add an element in which you collect data from them, give them instructions to e.g. press a button and show the results in a graph afterwards. for example between the cues and whether you feel safe. We can test the relation between the cues and reaction time of taking over control. Which cue is causing which reaction time (in the script); we need to pay attention to this because it is all in 1 script now.
