VC Pitch - JayThomason/Tutti GitHub Wiki

We had the wonderful opportunity to pitch our idea to a panel of Venture Capitalists! Our assignment was to present our project direction and rationale for it.

Our presentation went as follows: We set up our problem scenario: you're riding in a car with your friends, listening to music. Someone has a great song to play, but only that one person has it on his phone. Therefore, you disconnect the driver's phone and Bluetooth pair and connect the new person's phone just to hear that one song. What a hassle. Well, what if instead of just listening to one person music, you could easily have a collaborative music experience in the car that would allow everyone to listen to everyone's music?

That's where Tutti comes in. We explain our vision of Tutti, take the VC's through our initial mockup, and highlight our key findings from our survey: SIMPLICITY. We are working for Audi, so to us, it is important that Audi users be interested in our app. The average age of an Audi owner is 49, so we want an app that older adults with luxury cars will want to use. Our target audience is large: all people who have phones, ride in cars, and listen to music.

Our VC Pitch went really well...the panel voted us best balance of ambition and execution!

After the presentations, we spent a few minutes talking to one of our panelists, Garry Tan, and got some really interesting insights. One of the big takeaways for us was the idea of striving for a core group of users who use our app all the time, rather than having a larger group of users who use our app only once in awhile. Please read a summary of our takeaways from this VC meeting.
