Protan Colour Blindness (Protanopia and Protanomaly)

  • Red-green colour blindness
  • Red cones do not detect enough red light
  • Sensitive to green, yellow, orange
  • Red and black may appear similar

Deutan Colour Blindness (Deuteranopia and Deuteranomaly)

  • Red-green colour blindness
  • Green cones do not detect enough green light
  • Sensitive to yellow, orange, red
  • Blue and purple, or pink and gray may appear similar

Tritan Color Blindness (Tritanopia and Tritanomaly)

  • Blue-yellow colour blindness
  • Blue cone is less sensitive.
  • Cannot distinguish between blue and yellow
  • Blue and green, or red and purple may appear similar

Monochromacy and Achromatopsia

  • Partial or complete colour blindness
  • Can be the equivilent of grayscale
  • Can just be regular colours that appear saturated
