Packet Tracer Lab 11 1 - JadenGil/Jaden-Tech-Journal GitHub Wiki

In Packet Tracer lab 11-1 I learned the following about VLANs:

To create a VLAN on a network switch you'll have to enter the VLAN settings. from there enter the name and number of the VLAN. If done properly the VLANs will be added. Make sure that all the switches that'll be on the network have the same VLANs.

To Create a VLAN Access port you'll want to go to the port that you want to set as an "Access Port" to do this you'll want to make sure that "Access" is selected in the drop-down menu, if it is then you'll select the VLAN that you want to be set as that port (ex. ENG 10). That's all there is to it! Make sure to save the NVRAM to ensure that the setting isn't lost if the switch is shut down.

To Create a VLAN Trunk port you'll want to go to the port that you want to set as a "Trunk Port" to do this you'll want to make sure that "Trunk" is selected in the drop-down menu, You'll likely have to set it manually since all ports are automatically set as "Access". Make sure to save the NVRAM to ensure that the setting isn't lost if the switch is shut down and that all there is to it!
