meeting 2023 09 18 n315 - JacobPilawa/TriaxSchwarzschild_wiki_5 GitHub Wiki

Context

  • Revisiting N315 as we wrap up the other projects. I went back to the spectra here just so that we're careful from the start.
  • Plots below are showing results of fitting out to n=6/n=8 moments, before and after point-symmetrization.
    • Seems like the central few pixels are going to be tough to deal with/contaminated by dust, and the resulting sigma and h4 profiles are quite unnatural looking.
    • Despite, this there is really nice agreement in general when fitting n=8 vs. n=6
    • Currently am using the asymmetric binning scheme, but can we think of any reason to use the symmetric scheme? Just want to be careful about choices right now at the start of a fresh project.
