List Of Battlerods - JPANv2/UnuBattleRods GitHub Wiki

This page lists all battlerods present in the game, in rough order of game progression.

Pre hardmode Rods

Recipe: 10 wood (any), 5 cobweb @ Workbench

This is the first battlerod you could build, but usually by the time you gathered enough cobweb, you would have access to better battlerods, so this one is usually skipped.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/CactusBattlerod.png Cactus Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/CactusBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Cactus_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 cactus, 5 Cobweb @ Workbench

A better alternative to the Wooden Battle Rod, even with its lower damage, as this rod provides thorns effect while attached to an enemy. It is still not really worth it unless you're hurting for metals.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/CopperBattlerod.png Copper Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/CopperBobber.png

Recipe: 10 Copper Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

The first metal rod (if you're in a copper world), it is only a slight improvement over the wooden ones.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/TinBattlerod.png Tin Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/TinBobber.png

Recipe: 10 Tin Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

The first metal rod (if you're in a tin world), it is only a slight improvement over the copper one.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/IronBattlerod.png Iron Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/IronBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Iron_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 Iron Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

This should be your first battlerod if you are playing in a iron world and weren't lucky enough to get enough gold tier ore. Iron is plentiful enough, and makes a decent starting rod. However, if you are short on iron, save it for the Wooden Fishing Knife accessory instead.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/LeadBattlerod.png Lead Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/LeadBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Lead_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 Lead Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

This should be your first battlerod if you are playing in a lead world and weren't lucky enough to get enough gold tier ore. Lead is plentiful enough, and makes a decent starting rod. However, if you are short on lead, save it for the Wooden Fishing Knife accessory instead.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/SilverBattlerod.png Silver Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/SilverBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Silver_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 Silver Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

A serious contender for first battlerod, this rod has a special ability, if you are crazy enough to try it. It is really effective against werewolfs, causing 10x base damage against them, barely outclassing the early hardmode rods in that case. It can't really hold up its own against other, non-werewolf enemies in that stage, however.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/TungstenBattlerod.png Tungsten Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/TungstenBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Tungsten_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 Tungsten Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

While it is better than it's Silver counterpart, Silver has that special feature that makes it oh-so-more appealing. It is a good alternative to a iron/lead battle rod, though.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/GoldBattlerod.png Gold Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/GoldBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Gold_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 10 Gold Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

This should be your battlerod before facing King Slime. In theory, you can get Meteor before doing that, but gold is good enough on its own. It also has a special feature, it has 0.5% chance to drop money on bob. See the Currency Hook accessory for more exact ranges of coin.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/PlatinumBattlerod.png Platinum Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/PlatinumBobber.png

Recipe: 10 Platinum Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

About the same as a Gold Rod, minus its money generating abilities.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/StarMixBattlerod.png Star Mix Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/StarMixBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/StarMix_Battlerod.png

Recipe: One of each pre-hardmode ore Battle Rod (or their ingredients) , 8 Star Mix, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

This is one of the best Battle Rods available for most of early game, capable of bringing down even the Wall of Flesh, due to its double damage vs Bosses. It also has the fastest bob time of the pre-hardmode rods, making its damage be slightly better than meteor even against regular enemies. This rod is not helpful against most of the Eater of Worlds and Brain of Cthulhu fights, as only the head of the Eater of Worlds and the Brain of the Brain of Cthulhu are affected by the 2x Bosses bit.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/CorruptBattlerod.png Corrupt Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/CorruptBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Corrupt_Battlerod.png

Can catch Corrupt crates (from this mod) in any body of water.

Recipe: 10 Demonite Bars, 2 Shadow Scales ,5 Cobweb @ Anvil

Its special effect is converting ~10% of damage dealt into Mana, which could be useful if using magic or had access to one of the Mana Shield Shafts or Mana Reels. But at the point in the game it is located, it is not that useful. Specially because you need to attempt one Eater of Worlds. Corrupt crates do drop shadow scales, so it could be useful to get enough to make a Demonite pickaxe without having to beat the worm.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/CrimsonBattlerod.png Crimson Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/CrimsonBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Crimson_Battlerod.png

Can catch Crimson crates (from this mod) in any body of water

Recipe: 10 Crimtane Bars, 2 Tissue Samples ,5 Cobweb @ Anvil

Its special effect is converting ~10% of damage dealt into health, which is a pretty damn neat ability. In fact, this alone makes this rod good for most of the early game. Only problem is that you have to fight a Brain of Cthulhu and defeat enough creepers to get 2 tissue samples. You don't even have to beat it, as then fishing for Crimson crates should net you enough tissue samples to make a pickaxe and some armor.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/CoolerBattlerod.png Cooler Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/CoolerBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Cooler_Battlerod.png

Drops from the Cooler boss

It is nearly worthless in terms of raw damage (1...), but it can use the most amount of Powered Baits of all the Battle Rods. It can therefore be useful in Cooperative situations, such as aiding a fellow player dump the most damage, by the use of Ichor, Betsy's Curse and Oil Baits. Its uses are limited, but Frost Fire/ Solar Fire/ Oil Combination deals quite a bit of damage that completely negates Defense, such as in battles with the Dungeon Guardian.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/JungleBattlerod.png Jungle Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/JungleBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Jungle_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 15 Jungle Spores, 5 Stingers, 2 Vines @ Anvil

It can poison enemies, if they aren't immune. But other than that, it's not worth the trouble to get this rod unless you are aiming for the Terra Battle Rod. The stingers are better put to use making a Wormicide Accessory.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/MeteorBattlerod.png Meteor Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/MeteorBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Meteor_Battlerod.png

Can catch Meteor crates in any body of water

Recipe: 12 Meteorite Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

A very solid rod that is a big upgrade from Gold/Platinum, as it not only deals damage as it sets enemies on fire (if possible)! It is also worth getting because meteorite is a not-so-renewable resource that becomes much more renewable with the Meteor Crate.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/DungeonBattlerod.png Dungeon Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/DungeonBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Dungeon_Battlerod.png

Can catch Dungeon crates (from vanilla game) in any body of water, not just in the dungeon

Cannot be crafted. Can be obtained from locked Golden chests or from opening Dungeon Crates

This rod's special ability is acting like a blue candle when held, increasing enemy spawn rate. It also has a good base damage, so it's worth getting if you can find it in a chest. As fishing with this rod allows you to much easily gather golden lock boxes for obtaining extra dungeon gear (limited by your ability to make golden keys).

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/HellstoneBattlerod.png Hellstone Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/HellstoneBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Hellstone_Battlerod.png

Can fish in lava, and catch Obsidian Crates in any body of water or Lava

Recipe: 12 Hellstone Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

Not only is this one an upgrade to Meteor in every way, it is also one of 2 rods that can fish in lava, and the second is Post Moon Lord. If you fail to get a Star Mix Battle Rod, this is the third best choice to beat the Wall of Flesh.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/EdgeBattlerod.png Edge Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/EdgeBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Edge_Battlerod.png

Recipe: Jungle, Dungeon Corrupt/Crimson and Hellstone Battle Rods @ Demon Altar

While the base damage of this rod is unmatched to any Pre-hardmode rod, it is also the only one to launch more than one bobber natively. This divides the damage by 2, making it an even 45-45 split with no other modifiers. So it is in fact a little bit better than the Star Mix for regular enemies if both bobs hit, and is capable of defending you from two enemies at once with careful aiming. It is, however, really hard to get, only slightly better than the Hellstone Battlerod and outclassed early by even the cobalt battle rod. It is, however, needed to get the Terra Battle rod, so if you want that, go for it.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/NormalMode/BeeBattlerod.png Bee Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/NormalMode/BeeBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Normal%20Mode%20Rods/Bee_Battlerod.png

Can catch Bee crates in any body of honey

Cannot be crafted. Can be obtained with 1/3 chance from the Queen Bee

This is the best pre-hardmode Battle Rod. Not only it has the highest, single-bob damage for all the pre-hardmode rods, it also shoot bees with damage based on bee damage increasing acessories. The fact that it shoots bees when idle and when attached makes all the difference against hordes of enemies (such as the Goblin Invasion) and multi-part bosses (such as the Eater of Worlds, Brain of Cthulhu and even the Wall of Flesh). As such, it is worth defeating one or three Queen Bees to try and get one.

Hardmode

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/CobaltBattlerod.png Cobalt Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/CobaltBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Cobalt_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Cobalt Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

The first Hardmode Battle Rod, not much to say about it. If you saved up your crates to hardmode (or take some time off to catch a few), you should be able to skip directly to Adamantite/Titanium, which are much better.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/PalladiumBattlerod.png Palladium Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/PalladiumBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Palladium_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Palladium Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Anvil

Pretty much the same deal with Cobalt. If you have a good rod from earlier, there is no need to start with this one. They are an upgrade to most pre-hardmode rods, but adamantite/titanium is just around the corner.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/MythrilBattlerod.png Mythril Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/MythrilBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Mythril_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Mythril Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

The first rod built using the Hardmode anvil. Unless you are mining the ore as you go and have plenty of Mythril, I wouldn't bother just yet.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/OrichalcumBattlerod.png Orichalcum Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/OrichalcumBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Orichalcum_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Orichalcum Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This one has a special effect, even if just cosmetic. When fishing, pink petals spawn around the bobber and float down. Other than that, this is an ok rod if you only have Orichalcum.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/AdamantiteBattlerod.png Adamantite Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/AdamantiteBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Adamantite_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Adamantite Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

If you've been playing as a fisherman, this is the next rod to get. It has good damage, even if it does have an extra bobber, making short work of most early hardmode enemies.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/TitaniumBattlerod.png Titanium Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/TitaniumBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Titanium_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Titanium Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

The best hardmode Ore Rod, it is a bit more expensive than the Adamantite one in terms of ore (Titanium takes 6 ores, Adamantite takes 5) for not much gain. If you have some Titanium lying around after upgrading the Forge, go for it. If not, Adamantite is much cheaper and comes from the same crates.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/EvilRodOfDarkness.png Evil Rod Of Darkness https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/EvilRodOfDarknessBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/EvilRodOfDarkness.png

Can catch Corrupt crates (from this mod) and Soul Crates in any body of water.

Recipe: All three tiers of Hardmode ore Battle Rods (or their ingredients), 50 Shadow scales, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This is a direct upgrade from an Adamantite/Titanium Battle Rod, so it's worth getting just from that. It is not as useful as the Frost Battle Rod, unless you started using Mana Reels and Mana Shield Shafts, as it has the same mana syphon percentage than its pre-hardmode mode counterpart.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/EvilRodOfBlood.png Evil Rod Of Blood https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/EvilRodOfBloodBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/EvilRodOfBlood.png

Can catch Crimson crates (from this mod) and Soul Crates in any body of water.

Recipe: All three tiers of Hardmode ore Battle Rods (or their ingredients), 50 Tissue Samples, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

Just as the Crimson Rod before it, this has a Life steal that compliments well fighting in hardmode. It is perhaps even stronger than the Frost Battle Rod thanks to that, and easier to get to boot. This one should make you hold your own against the mechanical bosses.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/FrostBattlerod.png Frost Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/FrostBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Frost_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Adamantite/Titanium Bars, 1 Frost Core, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod has one of the two special debuffs introduced in this mod, the Frost Fire debuff. It will burn any enemy, just like cursed flame, and increase the minimum damage dealt to 5. This makes this rod useful even if a bit expensive.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/ForbiddenBattlerod.png Forbidden Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/ForbiddenBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Forbidden_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 12 Adamantite/Titanium Bars, 1 Forbidden Fragment, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod creates 3 Sandnados when idle in water. That's about it, really. It's cool, but not really worth it unless you have Forbidden Fragments lying around.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/HallowedBattlerod.png Hallowed Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/HallowedBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Hallowed_Battlerod.png

Can catch Hallowed crates (from this mod) in any body of water.

Recipe: 12 Hallowed Bars, 1 from each Boss Soul, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod does double damage vs bosses. It also has a very high base attack. If combined with an Omnilure, you can do serious damage per bob on most hardmode bosses. I recommend this rod to fight plantera and golem (if you can't get your hands on a Lifeforce Battlerod by then). Also, if you wish to make the ultimate rod of this mod, you will need two of them, even if they don't appear in the recipe.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/HardTriadBattlerod.png Hard Triad Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/HardTriadBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/HardTriad_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 1 Frost, 1 Forbidden and 1 Hallowed Battlerods, 2 Frost Cores, 2 Forbidden Fragments, 5 Lesser Energy Amalgamate, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod does double damage vs regular enemies, 1.2x vs bosses, inflicts Frost Fire and creates Sandnados. It is a good rod, but, oh, the price... Getting the Frost Cores and Forbidden Fragments is a pain. As of Version 1.1, this rod is only post-mechanical bosses, not Post Plantera. This increases its uses by a lot.

Further testing with this rod (and the Forbidden one) demonstrates that the best use for it is to use it in a shallow pool of water under a bunch of enemies, as the Sandnados deal a ton of damage to lesser enemies.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/BeeteoriteBattlerod.png Beeteorite Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/BeeteoriteBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Beeteorite_Battlerod.png

Recipe: 1 Bee Battlerod, 1 Meteorite Battlerod, 5 Lesser Energy Amalgamate, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

A direct evolution of the Bee Battlerod, this rod excels in crowd control, with its several Fire Bees that not only deal damage, but also inflict up to 2 Powered Bait Debuffs on contact, plus its natural On Fire. It is a very good rod with incredible damage because of the number of bees it spawns. The only problem is trying to keep the bobbers from attaching to lesser enemies and stopping the bees.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/SpookyBattlerod.png Spooky Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/SpookyBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Spooky_Battlerod.png

Can catch Spooky crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 250 Spooky Wood, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod shoots bats when wet, meaning it is good for crowd control. It only has one bobber, meaning its entire 150 base damage goes towards that. However, by the time you get this (unless a Pumpkin Moon occurs before getting hallowed by some mod) it is outclassed by any other rod. It is the only rod that can catch Spooky crates, which contain many goodies from the Pumpkin Moon Event, and it has 55% fishing power, so there's that at least.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/ChlorophyteBattlerod.png Chlorophyte Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/ChlorophyteBobber.png

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Chlorophyte_Battlerod.png

Can catch Chlorophyte crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 12 Chlorophyte Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

Its effect is basically the same as Spore Sac, only it's centered around the Bobber. I recommend this rod mainly due to the fact it can catch Chlorophyte crates (which are a very good source of Chlorophyte Ore), and that it's one ingredient for one of the best pre-moonlord rods.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Items/Rods/HardMode/TurtleBattlerod.png Turtle Battle Rod https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/Projectiles/Bobbers/HardMode/TurtleBobber.png

Can catch Chlorophyte crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 12 Chlorophyte Bars, 1 Turtle Shell, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

Its effect is 100% thorns damage, which is good. It is, however, pretty slow, having 2s bobs. And, as anyone ever trying to get the Turtle Armor knows, getting a turtle shell is ridiculously hard, so it's not worth the trouble.

Can catch Chlorophyte crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 12 Chlorophyte Bars, 12 Beetle Husks, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

Its an upgraded Beeteorite Battle Rod, meaning it is very good at crowd control, which this mod seriously lacks. Just for that, it is worth getting. Usually, getting the drop you want from the golem will net you the beetle husks needed for this upgrade, and the chlorophyte is easy to get, so it's pretty much free to try it out.

As of v1.2, the beetles inflict one Powered Debuff on hit, and spawn much, much more frequently. Setting a set of Beetle bobbers a small distance away from a Old One's Army portal will net you many kills (which, in multiplayer, rarely count for the progress, for some reason).

Can catch Shroomite crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 16 Shroomite Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

Its effect is limited in use (Mushrooms don't spread very far), but look at those stats! 120 base damage times 1/4 second bobs means 480 DPS, not counting crits, which is does natively nearly 1/4 of the time. It will kill most enemies in less than a second. It is also useful to get Shroomite without having to farm too many mushrooms, and is one of the ingredients to one of the best rods in pre-moonlord.

Can catch Soul crates in any body of water. Having one in the inventory is required to get Ectoplasm from Soul crates

Recipe: 16 Spectre Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

It has life steal, making it great from the start. It also shoots a Magnet Sphere every once in a while, even when attached, which is cool. However, its 5 bobs (which are wonderful for fishing) divide the damage by 5, meaning each bob will do 48 damage minus defense, greatly reducing DPS and recovered life. It is still a wonderful rod, though.

Can catch Chlorophyte, Shroomite and Soul crates in any body of water. Can replace a Spectre rod as the requirement to get Ectoplasm from Soul crates

Recipe: Chlorophyte, Shroomite and Spectre Battlerods (or their ingredients), 5 Energy Amalgamate, 5 Cobweb

This is the rod I've been mentioning as the one of the best pre-moonlord rods. It has life steal, shoots Magnet Shperes, gives 52.5 damage per Bob, twice as fast as the Spectre rod. But it really shines with the Omnilure. It will hit so fast and so hard you will be recovering up to 50 hp per second! This rod even shines on the Pillars, being able to keep killing fast and hard and recover from the damage you take. It does present a problem on Moon Lord, as the heal only work when you are not leeched, but otherwise, this rod is awesome.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Hard%20Mode%20Rods/Fishron_Battlerod.png

Cannot be crafted. Can only be obtained as a drop from Duke Fishron, with 1/5 chances.

This rod is a direct upgrade to the Shroomite one. More damage, more speed, bubbles instead of mushrooms... Too bad it's so rare, and slightly outclassed by the general utility of the Lifeforce Rod.

Recipe: 16 Chlorophyte, 8 Betsy Scales, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod inflicts Betsy's Curse and two more Powered Baits of your choice, while tearing down enemies with its high attack. It's biggest drawback is that getting the 8 Betsy scales requires about 2 full runs of the Old One's Army, which is not a Battlerod-friendly event. Using the Beetle Battle Rod might help a lot.

Recipe: 1 Betsy Battle Rod, 1 Fishron Battle Rod, 2 Energy Amalgamate, 5 Cobweb @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

This rod is a direct upgrade to the Betsy Battle Rod, trading a bit of Raw Damage for double Bob Speed and shooting bubbles. It does everything the Betsy Rod can do, but better. If you can get a Betsy Battle Rod, you can definitely get a Fishron Battle Rod and create this one, and it's a real improvement.

Can catch Terra crates from any body of water.

Recipe: Edge Battle Rod, Hallowed Battle Rod, 3 Broken Hero Swords @ Mythril/Orichalcum Anvil

The recipe is expensive, but if you have the materials, it is worth it. It has a very big base Damage with only 3 bobs (150 damage each) and half second bobs, totaling 300 DPS per bobber. It also shoots projectiles that deal the same base damage when on water, and are slightly homing. Overall, one of the best rods, if it were not for the difficulty of getting one.

Post Moon Lord

Note: Post Moon Lord Battle rods may seem a bit overpowered, but were in fact balanced using Thorium and Calamity Mod. They are still a bit overpowered for just after moon lord, but by the time your reach Yharon or Devourer of Gods, it balances out.

Can catch Luminite Crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 10 Luminite Bars, 8 Nebula Fragments, 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

This rod will generate nebula pickups while in water or stuck to an enemy. This is very useful in a Multiplayer setting, and moderately useful in a single player setting. Considering what the other 3 Lunar rods do, this one is the weakest of the bunch.

Can catch Luminite Crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 10 Luminite Bars, 8 Stardust Fragments, 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

This rod is the best for fishing for Luminite. It also spawns two stardust cell minions on swing, meaning they will stick around even if you switch for a better combat rod, making it useful in most combat situations. These minions don't count towards the minion total, so feel free to summon other minions to complement them.

Can catch Luminite Crates in any body of water.

Recipe: 10 Luminite Bars, 8 Vortex Fragments, 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

This rod is awesome for crowd control. While wet or stuck to enemies, it will periodically shoot chlorophyte bullets in random directions, which will then home in on nearby enemies. It is also the fastest Rod, with 1/6 of a second bobs, making it a very good damage dealer.

https://github.com/JPANv2/UnuBattleRods/blob/master/wiki_images/Battlerods/Post%20Moon%20Lord%20Rods/Solar_Battlerod.png

Can catch Luminite Crates in any liquid. Can Fish in Lava.

Recipe: 10 Luminite Bars, 8 Solar Fragments, 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

The Solar Battlerod is the strongest of the 4 lunar Battle Rods. How strong? Unusacies' extremely modded run with (including others) Thorium, Spirit, Tremor and Calamity managed to defeat all bosses (including Supreme Calamitas) with it. No need for another, stronger rod. Just this one. It also inflicts Solar Fire, the second debuff introduced by this mod, on the enemy attached and an area around it. Solar Fire is much stronger than Frost Fire, and makes the minimum hit deal 6 damage. If you don't plan on getting any more rods after Moon Lord, make this your choice.

Can catch Luminite Crates in water.

Recipe: One of each Lunar Battle Rod, 8 Fractalite Bars, 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

The best rod you will most likely get your hands on (without the extra trouble for the next one), this rod inflicts Solar Fire, shoots Chlorophyte Bullets, is very fast and hits the same base damage as the strongest Lunar Rod. It is very expensive to make, but if you take the time (and have mods that expand post-Moonlord content) it is worth it.

Recipe: One of each Battle Rod that wasn't used in making another Battle Rod and 5 Cobweb @ Ancient Manipulator

This is it, the final Battle Rod. Fittingly it is a very powerful one. It is the fastest, highest damage rod with a special effect that damages anyone foolish enough to go near it. It is, however, very hard to make, as it relies on at least two Boss Drops, and several hundred souls. But, with a good enough rod, you should be able to get them all if you so wish. If so, good luck!
