Apache Solr is the search index for Islandora and is an extremely flexible tool for providing access to your content.

Differences in use cases/needs, infrastructure, and technical knowledge mean that everyone's Solr configuration will likely be different.

For this reason Islandora does not provide a default Solr configuration.

There are exceptional examples available from:

• discoverygarden inc.
• York University

We suggest you start with one of these and build from there.
