Minutes
Old Business
- Previous meeting notes
- Islandora Community Events: updates to the Fedora Conferences Page
- David and Melissa updated the page, people are welcome to add events
- CoC Survey is still ongoing.
- Will end next week and will look at results
New Business
-
Islandora 7.x-.1.13
- New release manage lined up. More info to follow re: schedule and volunteers. Aiming to release end of Aug, but not firm. (Martha) LASIR group wants to get enhancements into Islandora Scholar before release. IR group works with JIRA tickets during release, submit PR early so lots of time to review.
-
Islandora 7.x Committers Call
- new time and day survey
- Other suggestions?
- Need to keep it going while still supporting 7.x Technically is part of the duties of committers, but never enforced.
- Figure out a way to integrate 8, make it both 7 and 8, just a committers call.
- Hard to enforce that committers attend, no penalty unless committers go dark for a year and don’t respond to an email for more than a month.
- Marth will reach to ICG folks, Melissa will check in with individuals
Interest Group Updates
-
Metadata IG (Rosie)
- Meeting on Monday, working hard to finish the document. Have plan to split up into two documents. First document will be more limited, include just MODS to RDF mapping without implementation details. Will be starting a companion document, include how to transfer data, what to do with data that doesn’t look the same. Mapping spreadsheet is being translated into a new document. Next steps, survey MIG members.
-
IR interest group (Bryan) -NTR
-
ISLE Interest Group (Martha or Gavin)
- Hackdoc currently happening.
CLAW
Merged in major milestone issues. Some UX, eg a form to play around with. Bug fixes around content translation. Back end work, eg stripping out weird formatting. Last few days to get stuff in, Monday cutting off acceptance of contributions. Preparing VM and Sandbox. Taken on an incredible amount of fixes, lots of people pitching in. Busy!!
Webinar scheduled, June 6. Registration available, reached about 1/3 of cap so far.
Islandora Camps
- Islandoracon
- Camp EU coming up, slightly in the red, but is small camp. Should be offset by registrations from Conference. Maybe need to evaluate European camps as always a bit on the edge re: finances.
- CFP done & reviewed - Most people who were accepted for presenting notified, building a schedule. May be able to publish schedule next week or the following.
- New pages added to Conference information on website, travel and accessibility pages.
- Registration picking up, up to 20 people. 6 months ahead, pretty good.
- Reminder that 50% off Delta hotel deal expires June 6 and Burnaby campus rate expires Aug 1.
Round Table
- Marcus - preparing for iCamp
- Rosie - attending Canarie Research Software Conference and giving an update
