Notes

  • Establish common goals: What do we want to accomplish together?

    • Software and community development - increase engagement, increase capacity, increase capabilities
    • Given the amount of time we have together, what seems doable?
    • Sharing the vision for the platform
    • BD/DGI talking and collab
    • Shared framework, make it easier for folks to use modules; align on how to work on implementation
    • Sharing news that things are being collaborated on, share it early and often: raises awareness and morale * Motivates and stimulates the community * Communications and best practices that have achieved by consensus are so good to have, really important to get a dialogue
  • Roadmap as a framework

    • Accountability is a challenge for us as regards to the community
    • Create a doc where we can all add our upcoming directions/contributions
    • Not just what you are doing but what you plan to be doing
  • ICC: questions about our relationships to the roadmap, division of labor bw leadership and ICC

    • Definition vs facilitate its implementation? Didn’t really manifest
    • Co-equal collab bw the two: we are working on together but at some point we will want to have a clear notion and who is responsible for what and how we collaborate. Make sure to be clear about who does what
    • Use the roadmap to communicate and build community effort
    • Terms of Reference to help us define roles of the groups?
    • Focus on the practical challenge of aligning effort
    • Our (joint??) responsibility is to synthesize these efforts and understand community needs and facilitate that work
    • May 4th for when we share the spreadsheet Everyone in this joint meeting adds in?
  • What are the parameters of these joint meetings (topics and decision structures)?

    • Composition of the ICC as folks who don’t nec have decision making power, not the same for the Leadership, using this joint meeting to help with that?
    • Staffing
    • Events/Cons
  • Product owner role, starter site development, and the big picture -- discussion?

    • We think the sheet above will help with this as a starting point
  • Islandora Ambassadors program -- discuss revisions, can this go forward for IslandoraCon?

    • We looked at the document and discussed a bit, and it’s good to go
    • We’ll review after the Con and see how it went
    • Public comment? We’ll send it out
    • There was some discussion about where things are getting asked/answered; pointing folks to the right channels? How to more effectively funnel?
      • An intro to the Isandora Slack channels
      • General channel gets renamed to Islandora mailing lists? That would help divert
      • Assess and prune the existing channels. Create a channel guide? Do we have a paid subscription? Yes, Pro Plan!
  • Islandora Events -- May and June Open Meetings, future IslandoraCon/Camps?
