Minutes
Nigel visiting to talk about ISLE buildkit changes
- https://github.com/Islandora-Devops/isle-buildkit/pull/238
- A massive amount of changes: completely changes the structure of the process manager, adds a lot more features.
- Fully updated: now PHP 8, at the latest Solr, Tomcat, Alpaca, etc.
- Release notes will outline for users how to backup before making the change, and how it should be done.
- Dropping Fedora 5, a couple micro services were dropped (ones that weren’t really used anyway).
- Links in the documentation with all of the information.
- Request for testers to play with it and try to break it.
- Don happy to test it out, Willow reached out to Gavin and Noah to see if they could test it out, Rosie will take a look at it.

Handling Feature Changes and Upgrade Paths
- What are our expectations before moving on to the next release?
- Rosie: establish best practices with the Starter Site but limits with this (we won’t be providing scripts)
- Don: possible to make upgrade paths more approachable for non-developers
- Seth: can’t automate, but may be able to provide examples on how to make changes. Need to find a way to balance users who want to be completely up-to-date and users who do not want to make changes all the time. Can’t support everyone, but should provide some guidelines on how to maintain their own site.
- Rosie: could probably do this with a relationship view.
- Seth: How do we guide people who don’t know how to do it? Or give directions/a rough map on how to do updates?
TravisCI and Github actions: Documentation/Issues/2210
- Adam: has a PR to make Travis CI work with Github actions
- Unable to determine if Danny (or someone) is still paying for TravisCI
- Willow going to check with Danny
- TravisCI login is in BitWarden
- https://github.com/Islandora/documentation/pull/1796
- https://casual-effects.com/markdeep/
