Test Profiles: What are they used for?
During Device development, manufacturers are using RF emulator setups to calibrate their cellular modem. Major manufacturers of such RF emulators are

- Agilent/Keysight - link to product web page
- Anritsu - link to product web page
In order to be able to connect the device to the RF emulator and perform tests, the manufacturers need an eUICC with a special test profile fitting to the test setup.
Those profiles not only have a static IMSI, but also some other parameters like Applicaiton Key and PINs have special test setup values.
The RF emulator manufacturers as well as the GSMA have developed test profiles:
- GSMA has developed 2 profiles:
- GSM Association Official Document TS.48 - Generic eUICC Test Profile for Device Testing, V2.0, April’20
- GSM Association Official Document TS.48 - Generic eUICC Test Profile for Device Testing, V3.0 (5G), Sept’20
