9” Snails, 26-27, 36

Quite possibly the greatest musical gastropods that ever existed! Small, but mighty, this band is often abbreviated (or abbreved, or acronymized) as NIS, and it consists of their top members, Trent Rezsnail and Atticus Sloss. Their top albums are Shellward Spiral and Broken Shells, and their top song is "The Perfect Slug." You'll find them in SideWinder's background of the Level 2 program (Class Introductions) and mentioned in the Level 3 game (Classroom Quiz). In the Class Introductions game, both Jitter Bug and SideWinder list the Nine-Inch Snails as one of their favorite musicians! In fact, that's why SideWinder says Jitter Bug has great taste in music (in the Level 2 and Level 3 programs). You'll find the 9" Snails on a wall poster in Level 3 on Pages 26 and 27, and on a small poster in SideWinder's locker on Page 36 (at the very end of Level 3). These gastropods were created by Ed Price (writer) and Grace Howard (illustrator). (We list the creators in the order of whether the character was written or drawn first.) All their art was created by Grace (in the program and book) and assisted by Brenna (on Page 36).
