Flight path

V84.25 and above: ImpulseOSD will record your flight path which you can view after you land and also save to your device. Using the Windows GUI, you can download the Flight path and save it to a .KMZ file which can be loaded into Google Earth Pro - so you can check out where you have been flying at home. For the Flight path feature to work you must have the Statistics turned on (or hidden), since it shows on page 4 of the Statistics screen. Please read here how to activate the statistics feature.

Please note that WolfPDB V1/2 have limited support for this feature and have not been well tested.

Apex OSD and Wolf V3 users please read here:

  1. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR LIPO AFTER YOU LAND!!!
  2. Go to page 4 of the statistics screen. You can show the flight path on the OSD by moving the sticks as per the instructions on the OSD if you want.
  3. Save your flight path in the statistics screens on page 4 (hold yaw left and roll right at the same time until it says FLIGHT PATH SAVED on the OSD).
  4. Now the flight path is saved to the device and you can read it at home with the Windows GUI.
  5. In the Windows GUI simply click on the "Flight path" button on the bottom right - a progress bar will open and you will be prompted to save a .KMZ file once the download is finished.
  6. Download and install Google Earth Pro. Open the .KMZ file.

Wolf V1 and V2 users please read here:

This feature is not officially supported by ImpulseRC on Wolf V1 and V2. The flight path cannot be stored (not enough space on MCU) and will be lost if you unplug your battery. So you will have to download the flightpath immediately from the device after you land with a laptop and the Windows GUI in the field.

  1. DO NOT UNPLUG YOUR LIPO!!!
  2. In the Windows GUI simply click on the "Flight path" button on the bottom right - a progress bar will open and you will be prompted to save a .KMZ file once the download is finished.
  3. Download and install Google Earth Pro. Open the .KMZ file.

Google Earth Pro

Google Earth will show your flight path with some place marks for your home location, the furthest point from home and the highest point above sea level you have flown. You can also double click on the tour and you can replay your flight in Google Earth. Note: If you e.g. only look at the ground or the sky on the tour, go back in the ImpulseOSD GUI and adjust your camera angle and save .KMZ file again - that will correct the camera angle in Google Earth.
