Activation

Your ImpulseOSD hardware will already have been registered with ImpulseRC servers and activated during our testing and QC stage at the factory before it was packaged. The device activation data is stored securely on the device and will stay safe regardless of changes to firmware or settings. You should never need to know or worry about activation.

If you flash your device using the Full Chip Erase option in the bootloader then the activation data will be wiped and the device will need to be activated again. The Config Tool will detect this scenario and automatically verify your device and restore the activation data.

You device only has a limited number of activation cycles before it gets added to a blacklist and ImpulseRC servers will refuse to activate again. This blacklist entry can only be removed by contacting ImpulseRC support. We strongly recommend you do not use the Full Chip Erase option unless you have been advised to do so by support.

If your device is not genuine then it will fail to activate and ImpulseOSD firmware and Config Tool will refuse to work with it.
