How is macroing checked?

  1. By performing completely unrealistic scripting time. Big surprise, if you farm for 12 hours per day consistently then that could be seen as suspicious.
  2. Manual staff checks. More about this below.

So how do they check if I am scripting?

Server staff can know if you are scripting by performing staff checks on you. These checks are noticeable as it is meant to gain a response from a normal player. This could be something such as teleporting, rotating you 180 degrees, or blocking your farm off by a wall of blocks. These examples I have provided are quite old, and even free scripts have alerts for these, but servers create new checks all the time that virtually every other script doesn't check for, or even know about. An advantage with Taunahi is we find out about these as soon as they're implemented due to help from the community, our own test bots, and debuggers in Taunahi itself, and once these detections are implemented into the client, our Hydra system responds in a human-realistic manner. However, this system is not 100%: More information below.

The Hydra System (Anti-Staff)

Taunahi has the most advanced anti-staff system out of any client by far. Taunahi will detect these player manipulations, and will do a response based on your surroundings, script, farm type, your items, and other context. Taunahi is very fast at detecting new staff checks.

Anti-Staff response systems from other scripts may often produce similar basic responses, which will get you banned. They often lack care, research, testing, and good design. However Hydra performs different human-realistic responses, which means you should get a very good chance to bypass even if you are attended, but it depends on the circumstances of you, your activity, the check itself, and possibly some luck. This leads us onto attendance.

So can I leave the script unattended?

If you care about your account, you shouldn't. Ultimately it is your decision. Even with the hydra system, there are times where there are new staff checks that Taunahi hasn't been updated yet to detect for it to respond to. The other factor to consider is that human responses will always be better than Hydra's, since Hydra may lack context and it cannot actually understand the exact environment around then like you, a real person, can.

When a script, or Hydra, is active, you can disable Taunahi completely by pressing the same Start Script keybind you use to start a script. By default this is B. Then you can react yourself.

Ok, so what steps should I take to not get checked in the first place?

There are multiple steps you can do to drastically reduce your odds of getting checked in the first place:

  • Scripting time
    • If you script for too long, you get banned. No matter the outcome of a staff check. If you script for an unnatural amount of time, then don't be surprised if you get banned for that very reason. Also make sure to take breaks, I wouldn't recommend farming for longer than 2 hours in one session as that would not be realistic at all. At this point break of 5-15 minutes is probably appropriate. In terms of per day, I wouldn't go scripting above 6 on a main account. Taunahi actually has a Dynamic Rest feature to do exactly this, in case you want to be unattended but still take breaks scripting.
  • Scripts
    • Some scripts seem to get targeted more, such as Zealot or Pumpkin/Melon, compared to say something like Fishing. If you are using a script with a Warning or Dangerous symbol in the menu then you should be more alert for staff checks.
  • IP Auto-Flagging & Proxies
    • If you are on an alt then you should use a paid proxy and ideally go on a different profile. Be careful with cheap proxies though, as they all have similar IP's and might be indexed to auto-flag you. It may be in your interest to get them from different websites, and sometimes different neighbouring countries (such as 1 US, 1 Canada, etc). The other thing to note is that sometimes people script on an alt unattended, may eventually get banned, then find that they get banned much easier in the future. This is very likely to be due to being auto-flagged when you join on a suspicious account (low stats) on your IP which has just recently a ban. Although it's not required, I have seen success out of users who buy pre-owned accounts with playtime and ranks on them rather than fresh accounts, and which have not been used on your real IP before.
  • Using Alts
    • If you really want to, use an alt. This takes away any risk at all. Alts are cheap and they're easy to start up.
